ABSTRACT

As part of the modern development of the urban environment in many countries of the world, comprehensive programs are being developed and implemented that cover the issues of urban revitalization and improvement. Today, much attention is paid to the issues of architectural appearance and functional purpose in the renovation, development and reconstruction of industrial coastal areas in the largest cities of the world. In this article, the authors will consider innovative concepts using the latest achievements of science and technology for buildings and structures on coastal territories. They will prove the rationality of using non-standard shell structures, including geodesic domes made of wood and modern polymer materials. The use of engineering structures of this type in the construction of buildings and structures for various purposes during the renovation of industrial coastal areas will not only create a unique silhouette of the coastline of major cities, but also take care of the historical value of cultural heritage objects. At the same time, their historical appearance will be preserved, which can be delicately integrated and adapted to the modern needs of society, without forgetting about ecology and environmental protection.
