ABSTRACT

Citrus fruit is popular due to its characteristic flavor, taste, aroma, and multiple health benefits. The desert environment is conducive for citrus production provided that appropriate agronomic practices are followed for obtaining high-quality citrus fruit. By-products can also be maximizing the utilization of natural foods and at the same time, and it can also protect the environment. Citrus fruits are financially significant with a large-scale generation of both the new foods grown and processed products. Citriculture as a garden industry existed for quite a long time in India. It includes the third largest fruit industry. Citrus organic products are perceived as a significant part of the human eating routine, giving an assortment of constituents critical to human sustenance, including vitamin C, folic acid, potassium, flavonoids, coumarins, pectin, and dietary fibers. Citrus flavonoids have a wide range of natural exercises, including antibacterial, antioxidant, antidiabetic, anticancer cardiovascular, analgesic, anti-inflammatory, and antianxiety. This chapter details the health benefits of citrus and by-products of citrus especially in cancer and the active components that are thought to produce these health benefits, their mechanisms of action, and the level at which they are found in citrus fruits.
