ABSTRACT

Algerian economy is facing a serious challenge of coping with the global economy’s rapid and dynamic growth while keeping its stability. Due to the consequent rapid flow of big data, digitalization and data analysis became necessary tools used in all economic activities. This chapter attempts to demonstrate the need for big data analysis, inefficient management and examines its role in marking strategic decisions.

The chapter argues that strategic management depends largely on big-data analysis as it might be efficiently and effectively transformed into useful information at the service of the company’s decision-makers because it enables them to identify achievable goals at lower costs. The chapter reveals the necessity of transforming big data into measurable information that can be used to assess the company’s performance.

Big-data analysis helps the company improve its competitive advantages and gain a larger part of the market while coping with the rapidly changing new data. Since big-data is speedy, huge, and diversified, the company should apply a special system that allows taking risks and investing according to a defined deliberate strategy. Thus, an effective digital system at the service of a company will depend on advanced technology that is updated daily.
