ABSTRACT

A few buzzwords like globalization, sustainability, and development that keep engaging media houses/platforms in 21st century across the globe. On the other hand, media sets the tone by prioritizing the abovementioned words and literate the citizens. The current study is focused on the coverage of news stories, articles, and editorials related to globalization and sustainable development by the Indian media.

The aim of the study is to understand the prioritization of the content, placement, and presentation of the content in the leading daily English newspapers in India. The method of the research is based on content analysis of the news published in Times of India, Bhubaneswar edition for a period of 1 month (November–December, 2018). The findings of the study will contribute to the understanding of the media’s orientation toward covering news related to globalization and sustainable development. That would imply the nation’s interest and direction toward globalization and sustainable development.
