ABSTRACT
Internet of things (IoT) is a widely used technology based on sensors. The main idea behind IoT is the machine-to-machine communication in which every device is connected and collects or sends information using sensor technology. IoT is implemented in various scenarios like healthcare, environment monitoring, motion monitoring, agriculture, home automation, and so forth. In this chapter, we present the basic knowledge on IoT its architecture, technologies, protocols, and challenges related to security that IoT will encounter. We will also focus on research directions that could be the future work for the solutions of open security issues for IoT in the real world.
