ABSTRACT
In wireless sensor networks (WSNs), the main issue is energy conservation. The protocols in WSN focus on energy conservation to evaluate the efficiency of networks. In this chapter, existing track sector clustering scheme and our proposed work “A Modified Track Sector Clustering Scheme” is being discussed. A modified track sector clustering scheme follows concentric clustering hierarchical routing protocol approach. Two additional parameters––weight value and relay nodes are used in proposed work. The packet delivery ratio parameter is evaluated to calculate delivery of data packets. On evaluation of results, the efficiency of “A Modified Track Sector Clustering Scheme” is 61%–62% whereas efficiency of existing Track Sector Clustering Scheme is 56% only.
