ABSTRACT

With rapid industrialization and innovations across the globe, there is an arising need for understanding the environmental risks associated with these developments. The rules and protocols have been framed by different countries to protect the environment, but all have been in vain and remain mainly unachieved. Risk assessment related to the environment is a valuable tool to achieve the goal of a sustainable environment. It is based on the evaluation of the probable impact of any process on the environment. Thus, it can play an essential role in the mitigation of the problem arising out of the process, and the required steps can be taken at an appropriate time to mitigate environmental damage. Various agencies, such as USDA, FDA, EPA, and APHIS, are working around the globe to assess the environmental risks associated with new projects and monitor ongoing projects. Their focus is on essential areas like biohazard management, risk assessment, control, and remedial measures.
