ABSTRACT

Efficient national medicine supply system is needed to avoid shortages and stock-outs of medicines. According to WHO, one factor contributing to the availability and accessibility of medicines is the co-ordination between healthcare partners and institutions. Therefore, this research aims to understand and evaluate the medicine supply system stakeholder’s behavior, intentions, interrelations, and influence. Data were collected through focus group discussion and in-depth interviews with healthcare providers, public health officials, and medicine suppliers in West Java. To carry out this research, all key (primary and secondary) stakeholders were identified. Then, stakeholder’s power, interest, and influence were analyzed by using stakeholder analysis matrix. The results can be used to understand stakeholder’s power and interest, the relationship among them, and the issues they care most.
