ABSTRACT
This chapter deliberates upon the prospects of blockchain technology to assist in framing policy based on real-time data to combat pandemic situations like Covid-19. Real-time data on infected people, recovery and number of deaths will help concerned authorities take policy decisions such as seal down, lock down or declaring an area as a containment zone. The data will facilitate understanding of the stage (imported cases, local transmission, community transmission, epidemic) of the pandemic and frame the policy for effective administration to contain the disease. Blockchain technology is capable of providing the base to formulate policy for the vaccination drive as well.
