ABSTRACT

Four coating systems with impact damages were examined for their corrosion protection effect. For this purpose, impact tests were carried out at three intensities, and the test specimens were then aged in an accelerated laboratory ageing process. The intensity of the impact damage was compared with the resulting corrosion damage, and repair strategies were derived. Based on an estimation of the corrosion progress, these strategies make it possible to determine the optimum time and the necessity of repair.
