ABSTRACT
Human need has given birth to many innovations and this continues. The primary focus of innovation is to make human life easy and comfortable. This desire for comfort and automation has sparked the digital revolution. The journey of digital evolution has been throughs many phases from stand-alone computers to mainframes to the internet and it continues to grow. Harnessing the potential of the internet, the concept of cloud computing was introduced. This concept has widely been accepted and used in the industrial revolution and its digitalization. This concept of digitalization has been further strengthened by the introduction of the concept of Industry 4.0. The concept of Industry 4.0 has its own challenges and issues. To make human life easier and to support human comfort, Society 5.0 was introduced. Society 5.0 has its own pros and cons. This study shows the concept of digitalization and its effect on industry and society. Finally, how these developments can be used to facilitate human comfort and its effect on the society is discussed.
