ABSTRACT

This chapter discusses some of the contributions of additive manufacturing to the development of ventricular assist devices and introduce some future perspectives of these devices. Since then, additive manufacturing has become popular and part of different areas of engineering, medicine, and even the food industry. Still within the possibilities of the additive manufacturing, one can find the recent developments in the area of bioprinting techniques that aim at the impression of organs working with living cells. Still within the possibilities of the additive manufacturing, one can find the recent developments in the area of bioprinting techniques that aim at the impression of organs working with living cells. Bioprinting is a recent technology of 3D printing in health used in tissue engineering and regenerative medicine for the production of 3D tissue structures, aiming at the construction of functional tissues and organs.
