ABSTRACT

Revitalization of the school committee’s (SC) task to improve the quality of education is not in line with the expectations of the community, considering several cases were still occurring, such as the finding of 50% of SC were not functioning optimally, the existing number of illegal students, and several cases and complaints indicating the negligence of SC on their duties and functions. Based on the qualitative research, two conclusions are generated. First, the SC’s business processes are not yet accountable and transparent. Second, the use of information technology and systems in the business process reengineering (BPR) of the SC will drive four important tasks of the SC accountably and transparently. It is expected that the state/regulator regulates the creation of the official website of each school in order to display all the reports of the duties and functions of the SC per semester.
