ABSTRACT

This study aims to assess whether there is a significant effect of financial literacy on consumptive behavior of housewives in DKI Jakarta. This quantitative research was conducted with a descriptive analysis technique using simple linear regression. The sample in this study is determined by applying purposive sampling technique. T-test results indicate that financial literacy has a significant negative effect on the consumptive behavior of housewives in DKI Jakarta. The results of this study indicate that the level of financial literacy of housewives in DKI Jakarta is classified as good. However, the level of consumptive behavior is classified as poor. This finding is distinctive, so that it can provide implications for further researchers to conduct a qualitative research that can better explain the reasons of the results of this study.
