ABSTRACT

Internet users in Indonesia significantly increase every year. But the increase is not counteracting with Internet banking service users. The differences in cultural factors in a country has become one of the reasons. This study tries to analyze the effects of culture as a moderator in a modified UTAUT model and focuses to the influence of cultural factors in influencing behavioral intention as a determinant of the actual use of a technology system for non-users. Data collection used quota sampling with 900 respondents in Indonesia based on savings and loan data. Structural equation modeling (SEM)-based covariance was used for data analysis. This study found significant relationship between the variables of effort expectancy, performance expectancy, social influence, behavioral intention, and usage behavioral, while the relationship of cultural moderators is weakening the relationship of existing variables. Using cultural moderator variables other than Hofstede Culture to use a new service is an opportunity for improvement in the future research.
