ABSTRACT

Nanotechnology is an emerging field that is now stepping into various domains. As the particles are becoming smaller in size, it has made a huge impact in industrial applications. The quantum size effect can start to influence the properties of matter at nanoscale and significantly change the optical, magnetic, and electrical properties. This chapter explains the chemical processes that revolve around the nanomaterial technology. It broadly covers the physical and chemical properties and methods involved in synthesis and processing. There are two basic techniques for synthesis, either top-down or bottom-up. It plays a vital role in the production of nanoparticles among different fields. Spinel ferrites have unique magnetic properties and their application in memory storage devices. Nanoproducts are thus applied for different fields such as medicine, drug delivery, tissue engineering, wounds, nanowire composition.
