ABSTRACT
In the field of technical textiles, medical textiles have become very important. They can help to solve the pandemic situations like COVID 19 and can be used for personal protective equipment (PPE) or face masks. This chapter offers a general introduction of textile structures as unique materials for plenty of special applications in health care. Special materials for obtaining the high functional textile products including nanomaterials, aerogels, shape-memory materials, and stimuli-sensitive materials are reviewed. The medical textiles, types of fibers/fabrics utilization according to the classification of medical textiles, and textiles supporting medical effects are discussed.
