ABSTRACT

The Internet of Things (IoT) plays a vital role in healthcare, and a lot of technology is involved in monitoring the health condition of the patients. The objective of this technical book chapter is to demonstrate how IoT monitoring is transforming healthcare and the role of information technology in healthcare. Monitoring and recording numerous medical parameters of the patient outside the hospital have become widespread phenomena. A growing preference for real-time data monitoring among healthcare practitioners to manage chronic diseases is expected to propel the demand for IoT networks in healthcare institutions. A dataset collected from variable reliable sources are collected using a questionnaire. The collected dataset has been analyzed using the BigML tool. It is observed that air quality has a significant impact on type 2 diabetes. An IoT application has been developed based on the analyzed results. The developed model can be used for real-time diabetic predication.
