ABSTRACT

In this chapter, information about cancer vaccines is given. Since peptides are composed of amino acid sequences that are characteristic of cancer antigens and peptide-based vaccines are synthetically synthesizable, this chapter focuses on their remarkable oncogenic potential, especially on peptide vaccines. Although peptides are very small molecules, successful results have been achieved in in vitro studies, but their potential cannot be adequately preserved in in vivo results and phase studies. Therefore, we summarize the way to discuss the advantages and disadvantages of the therapeutic effects of these vaccines in terms of immunotherapy and their use with nanotechnology and new-generation technologies.
