Computer-aided epitope identification and design of epitope mimetics is very important in peptide vaccine synthesis. In particular, it is explained how the production of the slico epitope-based vaccines should start from the most basic [under these headings: (i) the rationale for epitope-based vaccines, (ii) innate and adaptive immune system, humoral and cellular response, (iii) different components of the immune system target epitopes of a different nature, (iv) goals and means of epitope prediction and design, (v) practical guide to structure-based design of epitope mimetics, and (vi) identification of epitopes for T cell response]. Finally, this chapter generally explains how to design an in silico epitope and vaccine production on the basis of SARS-CoV 2.
