ABSTRACT

In this chapter further information about polymeric biomaterials, classification, immunostimulant properties of polymers, polymeric vaccination, conjugation methods in the polymer antigen systems such as physical mixture, covalent bonding (also their methods are given), and finally the development of metal-containing functional biopolymer systems. Polymeric biomaterials are generally described as very useful materials and offer many advantages in many fields; also there are also many methods for producing and working on this material. These polymeric biomaterials can act as high immunostimulant properties (adjuvants). Synthetic polymers are used to increase drug activity and efficacy so the vaccine production can be more efficient. So, this chapter especially overviews the conjugation of polymers with biomolecules and polymeric vaccine development technologies.
