ABSTRACT

Peptides are used in brain disorders as therapeutics. In this chapter, a wide range of information about how the brain communicates, addictive disorders, the brain (dopamine) pathways, what dopamine is, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and how the movements are planned will be discussed. The importance of peptides on brain disorders is another issue to focus on. Peptides have been found through studies by scientists that they can affect important brain regions necessary for life-sustaining functions. On the other hand, there are multiple studies on peptide drugs and peptide-polymer vaccines in brain diseases. In this chapter, we explain the use of peptides in common brain disorders such as addiction disorder, Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, and psychiatric diseases.
