ABSTRACT

The aim of this chapter is to present various reflections on the topic of healthy eating and quality of life. In the first moment reflect on the role that the food industry plays in the production of high-calorie food and its degree of social responsibility, in a second moment to analyze the habits and lifestyle of the population in Mexico, in third place reflect on the quality of life model caused by consumerism and finally state the consequences of the disposal of healthy food. Finally, an analysis of the relevance of food loss and waste reduction is made as an integral part of the solutions.
