ABSTRACT
In today’s world, data has become the most important thing. Therefore, the privacy and security of data are crucial. In any information system, it is the primary requisite to have satisfactory data security, as well as access control by the owner of the data. Every information system application in any organization usually deals with safety, and privacy includes access control. Health care information systems have very crucial data about patients and its own challenges. Electronic health record information systems need to develop strong mechanisms to protect the unauthorized access to data. In this chapter, we discuss different access control mechanisms associated with the health care system.
