ABSTRACT

Ambient Intelligence is a revolution in the evolution of Internet of Things. This is a unification of pervasive computing, sensors, and human centric intelligent systems. Edge AI applications demand autonomous sensing and decision-making environments. Ambient intelligence is one such technological advancement with intelligent sensing and adaptability. Inter-operability, self-organized structures, and service-oriented architectures make an integrated development environment initially applied to domestic use and extended to official spaces. Ambient intelligence is a distinctive sensing environment, empowered by powerful embedded units, that changes the way humans interact with the world. Even though the design and development of ambient intelligence is progressive and promising, there are a few hurdles to overcome. This chapter of the book is primarily a thought-provoking attempt to address the possibility of exploring better solutions with a behavior psychology perspective. This is an exploratory endeavor towards facilitating novel opportunities for computing and communication engineers and researchers. Ambient intelligence in healthcare services and in the development of consumer electronic systems is spotlighted, with balanced approach model. This approach improves the delicacy in the interaction of man-machine intelligence systems. Research prospects in ambient intelligence due to the corresponding advancements in related fields are also presented.
