ABSTRACT

Edge computing, which would be a cost-effective option to cloud computing for managing time-sensitive tasks, grown in popularity among a broad range of IoT-based applications, particularly in the industrial sector. The massive amount of data flow and service requests from the Internet of Things have rendered traditional cloud computing incompatible in the age of big data. As a result, this chapter suggests an improved edge paradigm for addressing big data movement in Internet of Things implementations by integrating artificial intelligence as well as the convergence of caching to the edge. SDN Architecture and Industrial Network Infrastructure are both covered in this article. The notion of big data, its functions in decision making, and the significant increment of big data for various organizations are all discussed in this chapter.
