      ABSTRACT

Industrialization is considered as the stepping stone of the development of any country, where the unplanned industrialization and discharge of waste by industries in unsystematic way are the reasons behind the environmental pollution. It is the prime responsibility of each and every corporate house to take some measures to protect the environment for the purpose of maintaining the sustainable development in the society. For the sustainable development of the society, a healthy environment is indispensable. When every corner of the world is suffering from the harmful impact of the global warming, the corporates must consider environmental expenditure and liabilities as a serious issue and provide some stringent ways to solve the matter. Therefore, nowadays environmental matters are being given top most priority by most of the countries around the world including India. Reporting of environmental matters is taken as significant dimension of corporate accounting and reporting practices. So, this study tries to analyze the mechanism of environmental accounting from the angle of the corporate houses through the entire world.
