ABSTRACT
Animal rearing is a backbone of the rural livelihood of the Himalayan region and expansion of this sector is vital role for the improvement of life among the rural population. The indigenous knowledge and practice based on locally available bioresources are effective to cure diseases, and are easily administrable. Being natural supplements, these herbs are considered safe with no side effects, eco-friendly, and cost effective. This chapter introduces 14 effective and potential herbal medicines as feed additive and their effects on livestock performance.
