ABSTRACT
THIS CHAPTER DISCUSSES the benefits to a facility of gathering energy use information and explains some of the costs involved in collecting the information. It includes a discussion of the importance of submetering and describes submeter applications including cost allocation, accountability metering, efficiency monitoring, and measurement and verification. Examples of applications covered in the chapter are: accountability metering, tenant submetering, load curtailment/demand response, and web display of existing meter data.
