ABSTRACT

WHILE DATA STORAGE and visualization functions are increasingly offered by EMCS vendors, these features are often limited or underutilized. Energy information systems (EIS) are equipped with a range of features invaluable for understanding and utilizing the data collected by EMCS and secondary data acquisition systems. This chapter reviews several common EIS analysis functions and their roles in building performance analysis. Some additional analysis methods not currently widespread in EIS are also included. Lastly, the role of EIS in demand response programs is reviewed.
