ABSTRACT

WEB-ACCESSIBLE CONTROL systems (WACS) are making dramatic changes in the way building control systems can be operated. No longer are operators tied to their desks; instead they can access the building with PDAs, cell phones, or laptops computers as well as the traditional workstations. This chapter explains the benefits of WACS and describes what to look for when specifying a system. The final section includes lessons learned from actual systems installed around the world.
