ABSTRACT

THIS CHAPTER CONTAINS five examples of uses for various features of Energy Information Systems. The first example explains the use of meters and sensors to measure and verify energy savings from energy retrofits. The second example involves the use of meters and data acquisition servers to allocate energy costs within a facility. Example three describes data acquisition systems that are installed in multiple buildings and provide energy use information to a remote database for load aggregation. Example four illustrates the use of a data acquisition server to monitor the electric loads and environmental conditions in internet data centers. The fifth example shows the use of sensors with a data acquisition server to monitor indoor air quality for commercial and industrial buildings.
