ABSTRACT

This chapter introduces the reader to the process of Enterprise Management design. The author takes the reader through the process of evaluation, planning, and implementation. The reader is taken through into the history of this particular university to get a better understanding of how they ended up with what has been described in the text as a melting pot of technologies.

The chapter gives specific examples of methods that were used to establish desired results and provides examples of what makes up a conceptual planning document. Examples of enterprise performance standards and a request for qualification (RFQ) used to identify qualified enterprise management system contractors. The chapter identifies the tools and concepts used to build and design an enterprise management system. It points out what makes this type of project successful and the recommended steps necessary to make it successful.
