ABSTRACT

Digital Learning or E-learning has been identified as learning by means of computer, internet, or the intranet as e-learning delivery platforms; and text, animation, video, and interactive exercises as e-learning content. This form of learning was creating its own space in the Indian education system by the introduction of several online learning platforms like NPTEL, Swayam, Coursera, EdX, Udemy, etc. However, with the unfortunate pandemic hitting the world, the learning-teaching process came to a standstill, and with the lockdown in place, online learning became the only option open to us ensuring the learning-teaching process took place uninterrupted during the lockdown phase. Hence, every educational institution switched to this mode in a hurry by using various virtual interaction platforms like Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Team, Cisco Webex, go to meeting, etc. With all these efforts being taken by management, however, there was one very important dimension of learning that remained ignored, and this was the challenge faced by students who, while accepting this mode of learning, didn’t know whether there was significant learning output. With this backdrop, the current paper is an attempt to find how far the acceptance of e-learning by undergraduate students of various programs during COVID-19 has paved the way for sustainable development in higher education space. Data was collected from the undergraduate students and was analysed to present the findings.
