ABSTRACT

Efficiently securing sensor network for the internet of things (IoT) is one of the foremost issues, hence trust evaluation plays an important role in various security techniques. The trust derivation procedure decides the efficiency of the trust evaluation mechanism. Metaheuristic algorithms are better in comparison to heuristic algorithms as heuristic algorithms may turn into NP-hard problems. Multi-objective chaotic salp algorithm proved to fight against local optima and lower convergence. In this work, chaotic salp optimization-based energy-proficient trust-aware cluster head has been elected (EETCH). In EETCH, trust for each node is evaluated based on direct and indirect trust. The residual energy (RE) and node degree are considered as parameters to balance energy depletion amidst sensor nodes. The evaluated results show that the proposed model accomplishes improved performance than other baseline algorithms.
