ABSTRACT
Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems are considered the lifeblood of modern business. The importance of ERP systems may be understood from the fact that virtually all Fortune 500 companies run on ERP systems. Moreover, many are now moving to cloud-based ERP, which is the key focus of this chapter. The chapter discusses its benefits such as lower setup costs, lower IT management costs, higher reliability, better version control and updates, scalability, and mobility. The chapter also notes critical success factors for cloud-based ERP. Finally, the chapter also provides a glimpse of enterprise of things, when ERP is integrated with the Internet of Things.
