ABSTRACT

The cities worldwide are under pressure with a growing population and their need for resources. Thus urban centers are in a hectic crunch to cope up with the increasing demand for resources. Basic resources such as energy, water, and air are becoming scarce, and innovative ways to deal with noise pollution, increasing urban traffic, worsening climatic change are to be found. Urban development in smart cities integrates innovative ideas and concepts that prove effective and high-quality public services and infrastructure in real time and provide a better life. The new urbanization based on the 4th industrial revolution and applying new generation technologies are defined as "Smart city". The technologies include cloud computing, cyber-physical systems, big data, and artificial intelligence for various fields. The problems caused by resource utilization and energy efficiency in urban production and demographic changes are solved with these technologies. The evolution of smart city drafts to smart manufacturing on the concepts of cyber-physical production systems. Strategic partnerships should be effective and made of high quality for sustainability that improves the quality. Smart cities reinvent themselves through leveraging the opportunities and grow wider. The adoption of the smart industry gains attraction and bears a solution for today's challenge.
