ABSTRACT

The asphalt will gradually deteriorate due to the influence of the external environment, and the distribution of asphalt aging in the pavement is uneven and has a gradient. Aging will cause the performance and mechanical characteristics of asphalt mixtures to change. Therefore, based on the premise of gradient aging, this paper researches the stress characteristics of common semi-rigid base asphalt pavements. The constitutive model parameters of asphalt mixture with different aging duration are obtained by dynamic modulus test and applied to Abaqus. It is found that the deepening of the aging degree will also increase the tensile stress at the bottom of the surface to some extent. As the load moves, the stress and strain at the bottom of the asphalt surface layer will have the transformation phase of “ compression-tension-compression “, and the horizontal stress at the center of the two-wheel load will also change from compression to tension with the increase of the depth.
