ABSTRACT

In order to reduce the use of crushed stone and improve erosion resistance performance of road base, SG-1 Soil Stabilizer is used to stabilize natural gravel soil instead of cement. In this study, the erosion resistance performance of SG-1 Soil Stabilizer-Stabilized Gravel Soil-Natural Gradation (SG-1 SSSGS-NG), SG-1 Soil Stabilizer-Stabilized Gravel Soil-Optimized Gradation (SG-1 SSSGS-OG) and Cement-Stabilized Gravel Soil-Natural Gradation (CSGS-NG) were tested and studied. The results reveal that SG-1 Soil Stabilizer has better bonding effect than cement, and SG-1 SSSGS-NG has the best erosion resistance performance. That is to say, the use of soil stabilizer can not only improve the erosion resistance performance, but also reduce the use of crushed stone. Overall, it is feasible to use a soil stabilizer instead of cement to stabilize gravel soil as road material.
