ABSTRACT

The usage of non-conventional sources of energy has rapidly increased in recent times. Especially in the state of Gujarat, India’s usage of alternative sources of energy has received much attention from the Government. The administration has focused upon utilizing eco-friendly alternatives for fossils fuels. The implementation of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) vehicles was one such move. From now until 2022, the state policy supports investments in both big megawatt-scale solar PV and solar thermal projects, as well as smaller kilowatt-scale solar projects, such as solar rooftop systems. Among the many major roadblocks in the implementation of e-mobility vision 2030 by Government of India one of the bottlenecks is charging infrastructure. This chapter discusses the solar power-based charging station, and presents the simulation that has been carried out in the MATLAB Simulink software 2015b.
