ABSTRACT

Immunity system or mechanism is an essential and critical criterion for the healthy and fit livelihood of the human species. Individuals who lack sufficient levels of immune system or protection suffer drastically from invasion of foreign microorganisms such as bacteria, virus, and other ailing agents. Before one delves into the complex empirical and mathematical models of how to cope with the COVID-19 and other similar pandemic crises, we need to understand our own susceptibility and protection against all the foreign elements that can cause us ailments. Here, in this chapter, we will discuss the different aspects and nature of this very important immune system and also focus on how we can improve and strengthen our natural germ-fighting capacities and capabilities. We will understand in a very simplistic manner how the organs and cells that are responsible for this mechanism function. We will also expound on the mechanism of vaccine administration into the human body and how it operates in providing us security against microbial attacks. Once we get a good grasp of the physiological, anatomical, and chemical operations of the human immune system, the tasks of prognosis, diagnosis, prediction, and analysis of infectious diseases become much easier. Hence, this basic knowledge will help the researchers to model and design more accurate and efficient empirical models.
