ABSTRACT

Growing population settlement nowadays has two big problems in terms of food supply and providing infrastructure space to make homes. Somehow we need to settle this issue in some extent for consumer occupying unstable, steep, or remote areas. Although to stabilize unstable or steep areas is too costly due to geographic conditions, they have no other option to relocate. Fortunately, with the enhancement in technology and low-cost devices or sensors, actions can be adopted to ensure an individual’s safety or infrastructure of agricultural. It is strongly suggested that the government gives assistance to professional geologists’ incorporations with engineers to make monitoring system for successful mitigation of unstable slopes and be consulted before actions are taken. Landslides caused watersheds in Guatemala after tropical storm in 2005, which affected farmers’ livelihoods in terms of destroying seeds and food stocks and preventing access to farmlands. In this issue, a system is proposed using accelerometer sensor and wireless sensor network using Advance Virtual Reduced Instruction Set Computer (AVR) microcontroller-based computing unit to monitor potential chances of landslide in agriculture ground especially in 132hilly areas. The proposed system transmits data from one of the Xbee set as end node to another Xbee set as coordinator node. Same data is placed in the cloud to provide further processing such as machine learning and deep learning.
