ABSTRACT

Hearing loss, a common childhood problem, may go unnoticed and can cause significant morbidity in the development of the child. Normal hearing is required for speech and language development and optimal performance of the child in the society. The causes of hearing loss are varying at different ages of a child and hence the management plan also needs to be catered to the cause. The rapid progress made in the area of technology in the recent times has revolutionized the accurate diagnosis and treatment options for hearing loss in children. This chapter summarizes how to evaluate and manage children with hearing loss.
