ABSTRACT

This chapter provides the reader with a general overview of Nb2PdxSy superconducting material. Superconductivity, a fascinating research field with outstanding superconducting properties, has inspired the researchers because of its wide range of potential applications. It summarizes the fabrication techniques of Nb2PdxSy superconductor. Detailed structural and superconducting properties of this superconductor are discussed. Finally, the conclusion of this chapter is presented at the end. It is essential to explore the existence of an energy gap in a new low-dimensional superconductor. The chapter provides the normal-state properties of the Nb2 PdS5 compound from which the sample goes into the superconducting state. The discovery of superconductivity in quasi 1-D Pd-based ternarylayered compound Nb2PdxSy brings in a new superconducting family. The large upper critical field in Nb2PdxSy system is inversely proportion to the diameter of superconducting fibers.
