ABSTRACT
The frequency of accidents has increased in recent times due to an increase in the number of vehicles on the road and the carelessness of drivers. In addition, speeding is the primary reason for these accidents. This paper presents an auto-braking system that can be installed in any vehicle to prevent or mitigate an accident or collision if the driver loses control. However, if somehow the accident takes place on account of another vehicle that does not have this system installed, collision detection and communication system, also installed with the auto-braking system, will be utilized and the accident will be detected and communicated to the nearby hospital and registered authorities for providing necessary support to the victims because most of the casualties occur because of not getting help or an ambulance in time. Hence, the work is divided in two parts: (1) design of sensing and braking system; and (2) design of collision detection and communication system.
