ABSTRACT

Medical imaging is one field whose importance is growing as there is a rise in demand for automatic, quick, and effective diagnosis to provide imaging capabilities and quality higher compared to the human eyes. Brain tumors attributed as the second biggest cause of deaths due to cancer-related ailments in males aging between 20 and 39 and also the fifth large case in the case cancer caused deaths in women aged in the same range. Brain tumors induce a lot of pain resulting in numerous diseases unless cure properly. A part of the treatment of tumors is to diagnose it. Proper and timely identification of the tumors is in diagnosing benign and malignant type tumors. The main problem leading to an increase in cancer affected people around the globe is the ignorant behavior towards treating the rumor in its initial phases. Our paper discusses an algorithm that tells the patient details regarding the based on simple techniques of image processing. The involves noise removal, image sharpening along with some morphological functions, by dilution and erosion to get the background. The negative of the background-subtracted from various image sets resulting in an extracted image of the Brain tumor. The plot of contour versus c-label of growth and the border gives all the in order relating to the tumors further are useful to visualize and diagnose. The process identifies the shape, orientation, and dimensions of the brain tumor. Based on the doctors as well as the Patients can get an idea of how serious is the brain tumor is. They also get a color labeled having different levels of elevation show the seriousness of the brain tumor.
