ABSTRACT

Segmenting an image is a vital concept in image processing where we sustain the subdivisions of an image in terms of its usability and significance in a multimedia application. Segmented images are essential for different image-processing procedures. The following paper represents a mechanism to acquire the segments of a noisy image. Initially, we input a noisy RGB image and perform RGB to gray conversion on it. We perform median filtering on it to remove salt and pepper noise. Then we processed it to find the edges so that image smoothing may be performed to reduce the number of connected components. As soon as we calculate the number of connected components, the task of segmenting and extracting an image’s objects can be performed quite conveniently.
