ABSTRACT

In the present time of the Covid-19 crisis and in the future also, social distancing is the need of the hour. There are numerous problems regarding the maintaining of social distancing in places of public gathering. People management, tracking, and control by police and security in charges is a herculean task. During public gatherings the authorities find it a tedious task to manage, control, and guide the crowd. In order to avoid any mishappening, a real-time control system is the current need. Such a system is proposed and implemented in this paper. It uses a sensor used to monitor continuous high density of crowd thereby alerting the control station through the Global System for Mobile Communication (GSM). This system consists of two parts: overcrowding detection and an alarming unit. As soon as crowd density starts to increase the chances of maintaining social distance decreases so the sensor detects and alarms the authority via GSM.
