ABSTRACT

Artificial Intelligence (AI), also called machine intelligence, is defined as the ability of machines to display human-like intelligence by learning, problem solving abilities, speech and language, adapting to the environment, etc. Continuous development is being made in this field to make machines capable enough of making the best decisions on their own while requiring minimal human intervention. With the rapid pace of expansion, AI is now also entering into the field of medicine at a very explosive rate. Its capability of utilizing datasets for exploratory analysis and then producing results based on patterns and analysis makes it popular enough for the diagnosing and detection of diseases and helps in their treatments. It involves a data-driven decision-making process with machine learning algorithms. But the two important factors, i.e., safety and effectiveness, have a key role to play in determining the role of AI in medical science. This paper explores the applications of AI in medical science along with the challenges and benefits in the future.
