ABSTRACT

In this paper, a robust scheme which is efficient, yet much simpler in comparison to other watermarking authentication, has been proposed. This paper presents a watermarking technique in the Discrete Cosine Transform (DCT) domain, using the basic frequency domain property of images and window filters. In modern data communication networks, the images sent from the sender end may not be the same at the receiver end due to noisy channels, errors, and other factors. Noise can degrade the images at the time of capture or transmission. The proposed algorithm makes use of window filters to remove the noises which are usually encountered in image processing. The experimental result shows that the proposed technique is highly robust and simple enough for real-time implementation. With a little modification in the algorithm, further improvement in fidelity parameters such as mean squared error, peak signal-to-noise ratio, and correlation factor can be achieved for the extracted watermark.
